BCIMS hosts a year-round schedule of sitting groups, residential and non-residential retreats, daylong sits, workshops, and classes. Daylongs are suitable for beginning and experienced meditators (unless otherwise noted) and include basic meditation instructions.
In consideration of all participants, please do not wear scented personal care products (including "natural" products) to retreats, sitting groups, daylongs and classes.
Costs
BCIMS's intention is to make these teachings accessible to everyone, thus fees for retreats, classes and special events are kept as low as possible.
For those who cannot afford the full fees, a scholoarship may be available on certain retreats. To learn more about this, please see scholarships.
Dana (The Practice of Generosity)
Registration fees cover only the expenses such as venue rental, food, etc. in running a retreat, sitting group, or class. None of the registration fee goes to the teachers or residential retreat cooks and managers.
The tradition of making an offering to those who make a retreat, sitting group, class, or daylong retreat possible is called dana, which is the Pali word for generosity. More information about dana.
