retreat registration

Registration Process Information
Print and fill out the simple registration form by clicking on one of these links:

For the PDF Form, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free download.

Send in your registration form along with payment in full of the retreat fee to the retreat manager. Upon receipt of your form and payment in full you will be sent a confirmation packet containing various information and material related to the center and to the retreat. Spaces on retreats are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Registration Deadline
All registration materials must be received by 12:00pm ofthe day before the start of the retreat. Regretfully, any registrations received after this, including those coming via mail, cannot be processed.

Our preference is payment by cheque. Please make cheques payable to BCIMS. International registrants may also send money orders, bank drafts or cheques drawn on Canadian funds. There is a $25 charge for NSF/returned checks.

Partial Attendance, Late Arrivals & Early Departures
Unless specifically noted, partial attendance on retreat is not permitted, nor are late arrivals and early departures of a non-emergency nature. (This includes early departures on the last day of the retreat prior to the final clean-up.) It is most respectful to the continuity of the group energy as a whole, for the smooth running of the retreat and the center, and for your own experience of full introduction, completion and closure that all participants plan to attend the full retreat. Special requests for partial attendance need to be made well in advance, are not guaranteed, and must be approved by the BCIMS and the retreat leader. Receiving permission from the teacher prior to contacting BCIMS is not a guarantee of acceptance for partial attendance.

PLEASE NOTE: This is of deep enough concern to us that your early departure or late arrival may result in the loss of future retreat privileges.

Arrival Times
Usually, a residential retreat begins in the evening of the first day with check-in between 4pm and 7pm. The retreat normally ends on the last day with lunch, and a final clean-up. Most participants leave by 2pm on the last day. Special arrangements can be made with advance arrangement for those catching a flight or driving that necessitates early departure.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation, if you are due for a refund we will make every effort to process it within two weeks of notification of your cancellation.

Other Information
BCIMS retreats are held in noble silence unless otherwise indicated.
  • On most reatreats, we have a very limited number of single rooms, and they are assigned by registration order on a first-come first served basis. If you have a medical necessity for a single room on retreat, please contact BCIMS.
  • Participants on all retreats may be asked to offer service during a work-period, requiring from 30 - 60 minutes daily. We may also ask retreatants to participate in a final group clean-up of the center at the end of each retreat.
  • Most of the retreat centres are accessible to those with physical disabilities, including wheelchair use. We also make every attempt to accommodate individuals with chemical sensitivities.
  • The BCIMS Board of Directors is committed to acting with integrity, honesty and fairness. If you should have cause for grievance, please send a letter stating your concerns to the Board members in care of the retreat center.
  • Participation in retreats is always at the discretion of BCIMS. Certain behaviors can result in a loss of retreat privileges.
