Karunā Sangha Support
“Karunā” is a Pali word meaning “compassion”. “Sangha” is the Pali word for a community of committed Dharma practitioners. Bringing kindness and compassion to ourselves and our relationships is an important part of practice. The BCIMS sangha gives us the opportunity to cultivate the qualities of giving and receiving compassion.
Karunā Sangha Support is a support network for members of the meditation community during times of crisis or transition. Support can include transportation, home visits, shopping and errands, meal preparation in the home or meal drop off, light household and outdoor chores, and emergency pet care.
We encourage everyone in the BCIMS meditation community to give and receive karunā support when needed.
To request support or to offer service, please contact Karunā Support Coordinator Karen Lawrie at 604-565-0379 or via email.
For information about support services offered, please see Karunā Sangha Support Services. For guidelines on offering support, please see Karunā Sangha Support Guidelines.
